About me

My background is about 60 years in different boats (it's a long long story). Hence about 40 years in the Norwegian Navy as an officer, and with about 18 years full time onboard different warships. I am a trained navigator from the Norwegian Naval Academy, and also learned to sail there. I have crossed the Atlantic, sailed in the Mediterranean, Biscaya, Iceland-Greenland, but I love most of all the Norwegian coast. The Norwegian coast is fantastic, and the Helgeland area (just south of Arctic circle) is one of the best areas. I was born and raised in the area, explored it in my youth with scuba diving, fishing and exciting navigation.

My experience

40 years in the Norwegian Navy. 20 years onboard different ship, including navigation officer, and 2 years as commanding officer (captain) on a frigate. Have sailed for +40 years, and owned my own boatr for +20 years. Have sailed Meditieranian, crossed the Atlantic, visited Greenland etc etc.

Sailing from Bergen to Oslo with Steinar was a great experience! Besides being a good cook, he has many stories to tell and likes sharing them :). He is also a man with a lot of sailing expertise and knows what he is doing. Would defenitely recommend sailing with him!

Steinar is a wonderful person, caring, friendly and great connoisseur of the sea and sailing, always in total safety. He worked hard to make this holiday unforgettable, from the choice of the itinerary, to the activities to be carried out on land, to the food, up to the various technical teachings of sailing and boating. It wasn't your classic holiday, but I'd call it more of a fantastic experience than you'll hardly forget.
