This experience, in a nutshell

Dear friends and future friends, we are pleased to invite you aboard ONE, a wonderful private sailboat, to take you to discover some of the most beautiful and still little-known islands of Aegean Greece.

We have designed this VIP trip with only 4 guests on board, to offer a holiday of pure pleasure, relaxing and comfortable, away from the chaos in places that are still little known and also for this reason breathtakingly beautiful. The itinerary is rich and aims to touch 7 islands as well as smaller islets: Leros, Kalymnos, Livitha, Lipsi, Makronisi, Patmos, Arki, Marathi, Agathonisi, and Aspronisi.

A holiday is divided into 8 full  days (7 in July and August) plus the two days of embarkation and disembarkation. Although we know that guests often prefer the canonical week, we made this choice because we know that after only seven days (two of which are short for embarkation and disembarkation) those on board would like to stay a little longer. So let's anticipate the request and invite you to treat yourself to a couple of extra days on board.

After all, it seems, you only live once.

Leg 1

Imbarco to Leros

Arrival on the same day. Boarding is at the private Marina where there are all the services including restaurant, laundry and showers. You get to know each other and take possession of your cabin, complete the galley and visit the island a bit. I know Leros very well and, if you wish, I will be happy to let you discover the best of the island of Artemis, goddess of the Hunt and protector of femininity. In Leros in a few hours you can see a lot: breathtaking bays, the mills, the castle, the Italian buildings and tunnels of the Second World War... I am sure you will be excited to discover this pearl of an island even before starting the real cruise.

Leg 2

Kalymnos, baia di Palionnisos

Kalymnos, Palionnisos Bay

On the first day there will be a short navigation to allow everyone to become familiar with the navigation. Palionnisos Bay is on the east coast of Kalymnos, overlooking Turkey. The landscape is lunar and the sea is very clean. In 10 minutes with the tender you will reach a beach of white stones where you will become a child again discovering the underwater fauna and flora. You will swim in the middle of  clouds of fish and see gigantic sea urchins with three eyes and quills up to a meter long. In the evening you can dine cheaply in a family-run tavern. Nomiki, the owner, is affectionate and hospitable.

Leg 3

The Wild Island of Levitha

Heading west, about 25 miles from Leros, there is an island where you can go to see what nature was like a million years ago. The island is uninhabited and there is no cell phone signal. We leave early to arrive at our destination for lunchtime. Navigation will be fast since the stretch of sea is normally windy and the direction favorable. Once you arrive you can go ashore or explore the coasts of the bay where you can see strange and colorful marine animals halfway between fish and ladybugs. The only family that lives in Levitha and offers boats that spend the night in the bay a dinner of fish, meat or homemade cheeses. All in a truly evocative location. On the island there is no inhabited center, but only the house that offers food to sailors. You won't forget this place!

Leg 4

Lipsi - White and Blue

After a good breakfast we leave for Lipsi. The island is in a northeasterly direction and is about 20 miles away. It is also known as the island of Italians because many of our compatriots frequent it or have even bought a house.

The small village is simply delightful, especially in the evening. White houses, a church in the middle and pedestrian streets where you can get lost. Before entering the municipal port and mooring, if the weather permits, a short stop in Makronisi is a must for a swim in a place of breathtaking beauty thanks to the high cliffs overlooking the sea. Here there is an underwater passage that is easy to do in apnea, which you walk to enter a salt lake beyond the tunnel.

In the evening in Lipsi a dinner at Manolis is a must. Possibly the best restaurant in the archipelago. Avoid traditional Greek dishes. He is a true Cheff.

Leg 5

Patmos - L'isola Sacra

A short sail will take us to the vicinity of the island of Patmos to explore the bays to the south that are sheltered from wind and sea. We will choose one to give more, enjoy the sea and snorkel. The night will be spent in the roadstead (at anchor) under a sky full of stars but it is also possible to reach the small port of Skala where you can moor at the pier. Patmos is a sacred island, it is considered the Capri of the Dodecanese and is frequented by sophisticated tourism.

The Chora is simply beautiful. In Patmos there is the Monastery of St. John, a place capable of giving you feelings of regenerating inner peace. The visit lasts an hour and will not disappoint you. Patmos is a destination for religious pilgrimages for the monastery but above all for the Cave of the Apocalypse, the one there.

Patmos offers a lot: beaches, shops with tasteful clothing and accessories, but also a scenic e-bike excursion.

Leg 6

Arki - BLUE Sea!

This small rabbit-shaped island is one of the bluest in the archipelago. We will go through rocks and shallow waters, until we reach a small bay that everyone calls the pools because of the intense blue color! Here you can swim and explore the surroundings with the tender to fill your eyes with a blue that you will remember! After lunch we reach a second islet that offers - with a bit of luck - a buoy where you can dock to spend the night. The island of Arki also has a pier in the tiny village where there are two taverns.

Leg 7

Agathonisi the Beautiful

In Greek it means beautiful island, and it is no coincidence. Heading EAST from Arki you can reach this small island stuck to the Turkish coast. Here there is a bay famous for the beauty of the seabed. After a long swim and a good pasta on the boat, with a little luck and the complicity of the military, the boat rests on the ferry dock. You can then explore the island even from land and dine in a tavern (practically the only one on the island) which normally offers very fresh fish.

Alternatively, you can moor the boat by securing it to the rocks in a simply wonderful bay. Forgot... I call this place the island of selfies. I will have the opportunity to explain why ;-)

Leg 8

Rientro a Leros

Between Agathonisi and Leros the navigation is relatively long but always comfortable due to the carrying winds. Halfway along the route there is a large rock (almost a small island) called Aspronisi because of its white color. Originally it was a large rock, long and flat like the blade of a giant knife planted on the bottom of the sea. Time has eroded the central part and opened a passage to the other side that can be walked in the water. I let you imagine the beauty!!

We return to Leros in the late afternoon, just in time to take a nice shower at the marina and then want to go and enjoy the food of one of the best restaurants in the Dodecanese: The Mylos By the sea.

Guido is an experienced skipper that leaves no room for surprises. He's fully proficient using sailing apps for navigation and weather forecast to plan routes and happy to share its knowledge with the crew. He's keeping the boat in immaculate condition for the crew to fully enjoy the time onboard and the sailing experience. I'm happy to have met Guido and the rest of the crew on this occasion and would be more than happy to book sailing with him again.
