This experience, in a nutshell

Explore the Ionian Islands Aboard a Sailing Catamaran: The Voyage of 2024!

We will travel in a beautiful scenery among green islands emerging from an emerald sea, among myths and history of ancient Greece, we will taste local cuisine, we will stop in exclusive bays, we will sail with the help of Eolo on modern catamarans guided by experienced and qualified skippers ready to teach sailing techniques for those who wish.

Sailing in these waters does not involve long transfers, in fact most of the journeys are on short stretches and in calm waters where the wind is not lacking, you sail quietly in a poorly formed sea close to the countless islands of the archipelago.

A sustainable journey

We will travel between the islands by sailing with stops in beautiful bays. However, there will be no shortage of stops on land, with visits to the charming villages of the Greek islands and their taverns full of the culinary delights of Ulysses' heirs. We will divide the spaces on board, respecting our travel companions and above all the places we visit, careful to minimize our impact on nature and the ecosystem that will surround us.

The program may be subject to change due to weather conditions and/or on the recommendation of the Skipper.

The fee includes membership in the sports association and accident insurance coverage.

It is possible to schedule a departure from Kefalonia (Sami or Agia Eufimia) only in case of booking the whole boat.

NB: THE MINIMUM BOOKING IS FOR THE CABIN (2 QUOTES) Bookings for individual quotas are not accepted. If you are traveling alone, please contact me via the message area.

Outline programme

From Lefkada (reachable by plane or ferry) we head south passing through Skorpio (famous because it is the former island of Onassis) to get to Meganisi. The tour then continues with the discovery of Kalamos and Kastos, small islands with beautiful bays and beaches. Afterwards we will head to Ithaca passing through Atokos where we will be able to dive into an exclusive bay. And then to discover the beauties of Ithaca: Kioni, Vhati. From here, head southeast to Sami as an alternative to Agia Eufimia. From Sami if we are early through a beautiful path in the woods, visit the Acropolis of Sami, an archaeological site of great beauty. From Sami we head north with a stop in the bay to reach Fiscardo, here we can have dinner by boat or reach the village with a nice walk. In the morning we visit the white beaches northwest of Ithaca, then head to Lefkada, where we can stop in Nidri, a lively town full of shops. We will return to Lefkada the evening before disembarkation.

The itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions and/or technical or logistical reasons, in order to ensure safety and a pleasant sailing experience for all participants.

Gone with the Wind: Corfu and the Ionian Islands

I was so excited to go sailing in Greece. This dream unfortunately took a quick turn into a nightmare. The captain didn’t take us to any of the sites listed on the itinerary. We stayed close to the original port the whole trip. We would ask him each day to go to one of the listed places and he would just ignore the suggestions. He would also blame it each day on the weather yet we had beautiful weather the whole trip, minus the first day. The boat itself was constantly breaking down. We had a broke toilet which was not a plus. But the worst part of the trip was when the captain used the outside shower in front of myself and a few of the other girls on the boat. He proceeded to take his swim shorts off deliberately flashing his private parts to us. All the lady’s became super uncomfortable on the boat afterwards. It was super inappropriate. Would highly recommended spending your money elsewhere. Was a horrific experience.

The holiday did not go as I hoped and the main sore point is given by the skipper. It felt more like being in prison than on vacation. Rino did nothing but list prohibitions, he had a know-it-all and always annoyed tone. He had the constant habit of walking around the boat early in the morning, banging his feet forcefully near the cabins and managed the doors of the cabins as he pleased, opening and closing them even while we were inside. What is even more serious, in my opinion he disrespected us on at least two occasions by taking off his swimsuit in front of everyone to shower naked without even notifying us. A really unprofessional behavior. As for the itinerary, unfortunately it was not respected despite the weather conditions were favorable. Apart from the first day when we witnessed a storm, in all the following days not a leaf flew. If there had been the skipper's will, we could have easily arrived in Paxos (which we did not see). We have returned several times to the same places despite countless requests to see something new. We sailed a maximum of two hours a day, we practically paid for his vacation since for the rest of the time he was lying in the shade reading! Finally, I found the location of the marina inconvenient (although suggestive inside the fortress) as you have to walk at least twenty minutes on foot between stairs and climbs to reach the supermarket. I would suggest a more accessible marina considering that when you do a week's shopping for 6 people you don't go back to the boat with a few envelopes.

To make this review I hook up to Sara's review and the answer she was given: it makes me strange that a platform like yours allows itself to respond in this way. What does what happened to you 2 weeks ago have to do with the week we had? What is the connection? I've been on boat holidays for 6 years and for another two I kept my own boat, I faced STORMS in the middle of the sea (complete with a hood for 4 hours) and I can assure you that what happened to us was simply a summer storm, very common in almost all islands. The holiday was presented with 6 different islands to see and we barely saw one, taking us further by the bottoms, making us go around the fool where it could be done simply on foot. Not to mention the morning that he stamped his feet on the boat on purpose to make us wake up, like when we changed our swimsuit in front of everyone without a shred of privacy, without giving any explanation of the place and what we were seeing and where we were staying. We were the ones who told him where we wanted to go and if he could take us there, when he has to be the first skipper to take us to nice and different places than usual. The beauty of the boat is that in addition to enjoying the coves at sea there is also a view from land, places and places to discover .... And this did not happen. I would have avoided doing this review but after reading nonsensical answers it seems absolutely necessary to me. I have greatly underestimated you. I'm really sorry for sailsquare. Rino can face a crew Of his age because with young people he is not able to manage anything. Not to mention that there was no possibility to charge anything electrical (we had to do in rotation to charge a bit of battery on the phone) which I repeat after 6 years of experiences on a boat this for me is a caveman thing or the fridge or the telephone but where are we in the 600?! Do me the favor. And there would be other things to say but I avoid . Avoid arguing because I know that I want to take a boat holiday and it is not this is above all I know what it means to have a skipper who cares and likes what he does and it is not the case of Rino I am sorry.

I'm sorry to write a negative review, I would have much preferred to leave a positive one but unfortunately several situations that happened led me to tell all this: the itinerary was not respected by the skipper with the excuse of bad weather (it rained only one afternoon) always proposing the same stretch of sea; the boat is moored in the fortress of Corfu where it is very inconvenient to get there, especially to load the galley; Finally, the skipper's unprofessional attitudes unfortunately spoiled this holiday. Nothing to complain about the boat, really clean and well organized.
