Give this experience a try!

This experience, in a nutshell

It will be a holiday of quiet navigation and discovery of a delightful coastline full of historical artifacts and fairytale bays with waterfalls that plunge directly into the sea.

Fethiye is a very pleasant and lively town, especially in the market area crossed by a picturesque maze of narrow streets full of shops and stalls.

Coming from the sea, the rock tombs that dot the cliffs dominating the city stand out. To the west of the tombs we find the remains of a medieval fortress.

In Karacaoren, among the island surmounted by numerous ruins, there is a suggestive anchorage. Further on we will discover a beautiful cove that ends in a beautiful bay.

Inland from Kalkan is the impressive ancient theatre of Patara which is well worth a visit.

A nice sail and here we are at the island of Kekova. The roadstead on the coast guarantees numerous anchorages. As soon as you enter the roadstead you can see the magnificent Byzantine castle.

Moored the boat in Oludene, it is interesting to climb the hill and visit the ancient necropolis of Lycia overlooking the sea, surrounded by centuries-old olive trees: a multitude of sarcophagi, true rock works of art, still in perfect condition after two or three thousand years from their construction. Not far from the mooring, a staircase descends directly into the water, connecting the mainland to the submerged ruins. The climb to the castle is steep, but it is worth it for the view of the gulf island and the chance to see the submerged parts of the city. Lyceum and Byzantine tombs are partly above and partly below the surface of the water, the remains of a tiny theater.

Ceneviz Limani (Porto Genovese in Turkish) is a spectacular anchorage.

The city of Antalya, our last destination, is fascinating.

It stands on a promontory in a splendid position at the bottom of the gulf of the same name. The main monument is the tapered minaret dating back to the 1300s when the city became Ottoman. Much of the old town has been restored and boasts beautiful examples of Greek and Ottoman architecture.

But perhaps the most beautiful spectacle is the one offered by the Duden waterfalls (Duden Selalesi): the water of the river falls from a cliff directly into the sea , creating a very suggestive panorama both along the surrounding park and from the sea aboard a boat.

From the wonders of Sardinia to those of Menorca, the Balearics

I really enjoyed the cruise with Riccardo. He is an experienced sailor and I trusted him, which is very important, especially if you have make a long crossing between islands, as we did. Riccardo took us to a lot of pretty places, and the trip was filled with beautiful moments like eating dinner together with the entire crew while enjoying the sunset in a lovely bay at anchor, or swimming in the sea during the day to cool yourself down. La dolce vita. The boat is well-equipped and comfortable, and the captain goes out of his way to make everyone comfortable. Obviously there were also some misunderstandings, but honestly, that is to be expected in a group of people traveling and living together for a week, and I think all quarrels which arose were handled properly in the end. Overall, it was a great experience. Thank you, Riccardo!
