This experience, in a nutshell

Scattered off the coast of Turkey, the islands that make up the Dodecanese constitute the easternmost and most cosmopolitan archipelago, with architectural features of clear oriental influence. They were the last territories to be incorporated into modern Greece.

The Dodecanese ( Kos, Kalymnos, Leros, Lipsi, Patmos) and the Southern Sporades (Ikaria, Fourni and Samos) offer a great variety of natural scenery and activities: beaches equipped for every sport, safe and solitary landings, caves and fjords, high green mountains, rocks and islets in abundance. The itinerary is very varied, some islands are parched and barren, others green and fertile and rich in water springs. All the islands are wonderful, each with its own grace, each with its own story.

Under a great sun, carried by the wind, from port to port, from cove to cove, we will discover the villages and landings of these Aegean islands: white villages clinging to the rock that look at you from above, jagged coasts, intense light and sun, a crystal clear sea, churches, castles and monasteries, together with a warm welcome of an area still out of mass tourism. These are the Greek Islands, which in mythology gave birth to heroes and gods.

The itinerary is very rich and admits multiple variations: we will alternate days of longer navigation with days that require only a short sea ride and we will allow ourselves stops to go and browse the land and explore the islands by bike, car or renting scooters, stretch our legs and enjoy some well-deserved relaxation and refreshing baths in the most beautiful coves.

No previous experience is needed, but the boat holiday is suitable for a young crew, with good agility and physical fitness, a lover of the sea, sailing and travel.

The actual route will be decided on the spot based on weather conditions, listening to everyone's preferences but on the unquestionable decision of the Captain, who aims to ensure a pleasant and safe itinerary.

In case of adverse weather conditions that cannot be circumvented, we will stop in a port or in a protected roadstead, exploring the island from land and visiting the villages and beaches.

The following itinerary is therefore indicative.

Our itinerary

Our trip starts here:

Kalymnos Harbour.

Check-in: 5:00 PM

Our trip ends here:

Samos.

Check-out: 8:00 AM

Leg 1

Day 1 boarding

From 5 p.m. boarding begins, you get on board, arrange your luggage and make the first common shopping (galley), which will then be replenished during the journey where necessary. In the evening we go out for dinner in a local tavern and we start to get to know each other.

Day 1 boarding

Leg 2

Day 2 - Everyone to the water!

After visiting Kalymnos, the following morning we go out to sea and continue our ascent northwards: most likely it will be necessary to pull edges in a zigzag path that in two or three hours will take us to a bay where we will stop for lunch and relax for a break and a nice swim. Continue to Leros, heading to the charming village of Pandeli. In the evening we will go up to the castle and the mills overlooking the cliff for an aperitif with a breathtaking view!

Day 2 - Everyone to the water!

Leg 3

Day 3 - Lipsi

We calmly wake up and treat ourselves to a nice breakfast and a refreshing bath. Then we leave for Lipsi, where we will drop anchor in a lovely and super-protected bay in the south of the island. Baths, rest and relaxation and for those who want a half-hour walk through the pretty village of Lipsi. Dinner in the tavern or barbecue on the beach!

Day 3 - Lipsi

Leg 4

Day 4 - Patmos or Agatonisi

Early in the morning we head towards the nearby islets of Sarakiniko, east of Lipsi, a white limestone rock that has created magnificent beaches and caves, in crystal clear water: the ideal place for a stop to dive into the sea and enjoy the show. From here we sail north and take shelter in another bay not far away for lunch. After lunch and a well-deserved siesta we continue to the next stop. On our way north we will decide based on the weather whether to head to Patmos or Agatonisi for the night.

Day 4 - Patmos or Agatonisi

Leg 5

Day 5 - Fourni

We leave the mooring and allow ourselves a stop for a healthy morning swim.

From the northern cape we head for Fourni, the island with the strange shape of a lobster, the southernmost of the Sporades and by far one of the most surprising Greek islands: jagged, wild, hospitable, rich in fish and definitely off the beaten track of mass tourism. We will take a day to run around a bit between bays and islets and explore the island!

Day 5 - Fourni

Leg 6

Day 6 - Fourni and surroundings

We move between Fourni, its bays, the nearby islands and islets to discover the area.

Day 6 - Fourni and surroundings

Leg 7

Day7

We head towards Samos, stopping and swimming for lunch to arrive at the end of the afternoon in Samos, in the small port of Pythagoreon

Day7

Leg 8

Day 8

The crew prepares for disembarkation, a last breakfast together and it's time to say goodbye, ritual photos of the crew, kisses and hugs with the promise of meeting again. An itinerary and a wonderful holiday that you will not forget and that many will want to try again.

Andrea was a great captain. We felt completely safe with the way he led us through all the beautiful places, ports and hidden bays with clear azure water. In those places, we swam with school of fish and encountered swimming pigs, jumping dolphins , a huge seal, baby octopus and turtle. It was truly magical to sail without the engines from time to time. We felt like we became part of the ocean. It was kind of Andrea to let us take part in some simple and safe tasks. We were lucky with the other passengers with whom we shared this experience. They were excellent chefs. We enjoyed working together in the galley. The seafood risotto under the stars was one of the best meals of our week. Thank you Andrea! J & M
