This experience, in a nutshell

The fundamental importance in the geological and naturalistic field is the reason why UNESCO, in 2000, included the Aeolian Islands in the "World Heritage List". For 200 years, in fact, the seven sisters of the archipelago (Lipari, Panarea, Vulcano, Stromboli, Salina, Alicudi, Filicudi) have represented an extraordinary field of research for geologists from all over the world.

Without forgetting that the ash, lava and all the material erupted over the millennia has contributed decisively to the preservation of many finds from ancient times, transforming the Aeolian Islands into a large open-air archaeological park.

As in the best families, the seven sister islands that make up the Aeolian archipelago also have different characters, attitudes and ambitions. What they have in common, however , is a shining sea, volcanic origin, and a rugged hinterland scented with Mediterranean scrub.

Between fishing villages and pebble beaches, the itinerary that leads from Lipari to Vulcano with an obligatory passage to Salina, Panarea up to Stromboli is based on picturesque corners in which to dive but also culture, archaeology, good food and views with sunsets that leave you breathless.

Leg 1

Marina of Portorosa

Boarding scheduled in Furnari (Me) around 15.00 at the Marina di Portorosa; Arrangement of the galley, accommodation in the cabins, briefing and welcome aperitif on board. Departure to the island of Vulcano and night at anchor on the beautiful donkey beach.

Marina of Portorosa

Leg 2

Vulcano and Salina

First Aeolian bath of the holiday in the wonderful waters of the Grotta del Cavallo and Piscine di Venere. In the afternoon we will continue to the Island of Salina, where we will anchor for the night in the roadstead of Santa Marina Salina. We will evaluate whether to have dinner on the boat or go ashore in the characteristic village of Lingua for a delicious taste of pane cunzato, a typical dish of the Aeolian tradition, made with a large loaf lightly toasted and filled with typical products of the Salina area (capers, cucunci, eggplant, dried tomatoes).

Vulcano and Salina

Leg 3

Pollara and Filicudi

We will take us to the Bay of Pollara, on the west side of the island of Salina. The hamlet of Pollara stands on the remains of an ancient volcanic crater that has partially collapsed. In addition to its natural beauty and landscape, Pollara is one of the most famous places in the Aeolian Islands for the film Il Postino. In this place of enchanting natural beauty and crystal clear sea, we will dive in for a beautiful swim and snorkeling  along the coast. In the afternoon we will sail to the island of Filicudi, where we will spend the night in a buoy field in front of the small fishing village of Pecorini a Mare.

Leg 4

Lipari (Italy)

Once in Lipari we will take a nice swim in the beautiful Praia di Vinci beach, where we will be able to admire a wonderful panorama dominated by the stacks of Lipari. We will wait in this wonderful place for one of the most beautiful sunsets in the Aeolian Islands. We will spend the night moored in one of the marinas on the seafront, a few minutes walk from the center of Lipari. We will not miss a wonderful walk through the narrow streets of the center, where there are numerous bars and souvenir shops. We will reach Marina Corta, certainly one of the most evocative points of the village of Lipari, with its beautiful square by the sea and the many restaurants where you can taste excellent local fish and the highly appreciated Aeolian cuisine.

Lipari (Italy)

Leg 5

White Beach and Portorosa

Breakfast reinforced with the best of Lipari's pastry shop that offers one of the best granita of the Aeolian Islands, to be enjoyed strictly with hot brioche. After spending some time buying some souvenirs in the many bazaars of the main street, we'll set sail for the white beaches. The beach owes its name to the spectacular expanse of pumice dust that makes up its suggestive beach that makes the water a very blue color. After a bit of relaxation, we will continue our sailing to return to Marina di Portorosa, with arrival expected around 17:00. Greetings and last toasts of the holiday with the skipper.

Grazie!

Very nice experience with Antonino. He's very professional and concerned with our needs. Despite the bad weather for a few days, we were still able to cover almost all the places to visit and had a unique and interesting vacation.
