The rendezvous is the same for everyone: same port of embarkation, same time. In the days leading up to the departure date, the organizers, led by the flotilla leader, make arrangements for what to bring and the galley list to be purchased once you arrive. Often in the weeks beforehand they make themselves available to organize the trip by recommending the best airports and flights. Already at this stage we begin to get to know each other, especially among crews from the same boat, perhaps to share the transfer.

Once in port, the stowage, welcome briefing, first acquaintances, and definitely the first evening with a nice group dinner in some little restaurant near the harbor starts. Night on board and then off we go! All boats depart the next morning sailing by sight and following the same route of travel.

If you are still uncertain about whether to book a flotilla vacation or not, it will help to know that there are flotillas for all tastes. In August it will be easy to find a boat party: a week in the company of young people aged 25 to 45, ready to party, throw sailing challenges and try all sorts of water games. Also on the "to do list" are late-night dancing to music and flirting under the stars. If, on the other hand, you are looking for adventure and exploration, you should choose discovery flotillas, where sailing and discovering places ashore take center stage throughout the week. By the time you return, you will not only have met a group of people as passionate about travel as you are, but you will also have toured the length and breadth of your chosen destination. This is also true for exotic destinations, which combine the relaxation of the catamaran with sociability and adventure in pristine landscapes to be scoured far and wide. Finally, if you are looking for a family vacation, you might consider a family flotilla where both young and old find the right company to spend a truly carefree week.

Throughout the summer, the Mediterranean is also populated with friends sailing together: these are mostly two or three boats that depart from the same port and follow the same itinerary, led by two experienced sailors. Again, places multiply and it is easy to find boarding for up to 15 or 20 people. If you are thinking of organizing a bachelorette or bachelor party, or a corporate team building, these might be the best proposals for you because the spaces on the sailboat expand, allowing you to all leave together. At the same time, groups of friends can reserve an entire boat without having to give up meeting new people. Solo travelers and couples can also get a feel for flotilla vacations by sharing the experience together with a larger group of new acquaintances.
